To my wife, I love you more than I can even imagine. I knew the second I met you that we were meant to be, and I'm happy you thought so too... and that you dropped the restraining order... (just kidding)

To my daughters, you have my love for your entire lives, you both hopefully will find the love that your mother and I have found and I can't wait to see it happen.

Voting.

You know I'm not the most educated person when it comes to politics, nor am I one to want to be, I think most of the people who are educated in such things tend to be pretentious assholes who find it their job to push their beliefs on others... much like religion and in fact the two have a lot in common.. but that's not what I'm getting at.

What I started this post about is the wealth of voter fraud articles out there now, all of the primaries that have happened lately have had someone either write an article in a news rag or at the very least a post on some poli-blabber-board about shady dealings at the voting booth.

While I find this interesting, it seems that we have bigger issue here in my neck of the woods. I like to call them Volunteriatrics... These are the retirement community citizens who are volunteered to run the polling booths. Where are the young republicans? Where are the boy scouts? I know there are people out there who have a brain that works better than the old 47 Edsel that looked my name up in the registration book. The last time my wife and I voted they had people sitting on the floor filling out their ballots, in plain site! Isn't that illegal? I know it was because there was a huge turn out and the Volunteriatrics didn't know what to do about it so they did what they could to insure prune juice and a nap time, but I know it wasn't right and a few young energetic people running that show would have at least known that what they were doing was illegal...

Anyways my point is I think the first step in helping get rid of voter fraud is get more young people who can understand and follow the rules of a polling place involved. Even though politics aren't as "cool" as they used to be... oh wait... they were never cool... my bad.

Grammy-atical Error.

Can I just say that the Grammy's sucked even more than usual last night? It really wasn't about who won to me since we all know that is pretty much a joke... But I'm assuming that due to the writers strike we didn't get the fluff pieces for things like "Lifetime Achievement Award"... nope they announced that Earl Scruggs won it, then moved on to Keelie Smith and Kid Rock? WTF people!

Oh and congrats to the trainwreck that won record of the year, even though it's actually been out for a few years, and Brittany has stolen your trainwreck tabloid press away from you.



Oh ya and who the hell thinks Kanye West has talent? Sure he produced some decent stuff, but his solo stuff? My 3 year old can come up with better raps this this complete piece of crap... Give me a break! Is the world this hard up for talent?

Flogging Molly!

Went and saw Flogging Molly for my 4th time last night at the Beaumont and once again they are simply who I think of when I think of one hell of a show. I got to spend some time with my wonderful wife who I don't think had seen FM before, so it was a treat.
They are touring with two other bands from Side One Dummy Records,


Dusty Rhodes and the River Band and


Reverend Peyton's Big Damned Band.

When I did a quick listen online of the two I was convinced that Dusty Rhodes was going to be the one I liked between the two... but the Reverend won me over with the live show. And the quote from the night comes from my wife while we were watching Dusty Rhodes... "Jeff Lynne called, he wants his hair back." I'll let you all figure out which person in the band she was talking about, and to those that don't know who Jeff Lynne is... Wikipedia is your friend.
