Sad
All nervousness aside about the upcoming election (because my gut tells me there is going to be some shady stuff happening yet again with this one)... I have to say it's almost sad at this point hearing the old man grasping at any little thing to make himself look better. I just don't understand how either camp can stand for it anymore, it's like that bad elementary bully who finally get's put in his place and it turns into "Your Mom" jabs. "Oh he broke a promise when he said he would take public monies and he didn't", okay we get it, you are getting out spent, it's a little late in the game to pull that card and you blame the Demo's for spending people's hard earned money. There is something rather socialist about taking public money to run your bid for the Presidency.

Family Values?
Amazing how they can run on a platform pushing so called "family values" and yet here is the real speed bump in that.
"How has Palin brought up her own kids? Her eldest son is a high-school drop-out. Her eldest daughter has had, so far as one can tell from press reports, very uneven attendance in high school, and no plans for college. Her other daughters seem to spend a lot of time traveling the country with their mom at tax-payers' expense. I've seen them at several rallies with the Palins this fall. Are they not in school?

The least one can say is that none of her children seems to have been brought up thinking that college is something to aspire to. And her new son-in-law just dropped out of high school as well."

WTF?!?!?!
Come on now, killing animals? Hasn't this gone too far already? All you right wing f*cknuts out there need to get your head on straight, claim to be pro-life and yet kill animals and human beings in wars, claim to be moral and yet screw young boys and cheat on your wives, claim to be the "real America"... give me a break.
I was carefully looking at my local ballot and researching who was what and who stood for what, I'm a registered independant so I can do that. But with the last few weeks and the antics of the right I'm about to vote all left, all the way down the card.
Oh ya and Darla J, f*ck you too,

And so it begins...
I think the right needs to find a new way to screw the population of the US.
"Three Putnam County voters say electronic voting machines changed their votes from Democrats to Republicans when they cast early ballots last week.
"Three Putnam County voters say electronic voting machines changed their votes from Democrats to Republicans when they cast early ballots last week.
This is the second West Virginia county where voters have reported this problem. Last week, three voters in Jackson County told The Charleston Gazette their electronic vote for "Barack Obama" kept flipping to "John McCain."
In both counties, Republicans are responsible for overseeing elections. Both county clerks said the problem is isolated.
They also blamed voters for not being more careful."

This is what it's come too?
Taken from the Chicago Tribune.Political signs bring threats in Villa Park
- Tribune staff report
- October 17, 2008
A 74-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man with Obama signs in their front yards near the 600 block of South Villa Avenue received similar letters that had a Villa Park Village Hall return address. "Get the Obama signs off your property—now," the letter reads. "Failure to obey this order will result in the immediate death of all family members." Both residents said they will not remove their signs, though the man, who had voted Republican for 25 years before switching parties this year, said his wife is worried about letting their 7-year-old son play alone outside.
Village President Joyce Stupegia said she has not heard about any other letters.
"I'm quite troubled," she said. "It's obviously a person who's a little nutsy getting carried away. But it's unacceptable."

World Cup
Well the US Men's team finally fell last night in the quest to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup last night. In my opinion they lost (2 to 1) to the experience of Trinidad & Tobago more so than over all talent, the US pushed hard and missed an equalizer that could have given them a possible draw, but alas it was a few feet too wide. But never fear, the US is still very much in the top of their division.
USA - 12 pts.
Trinidad & Tobago - 8 pts.
Guatemala - 5 pts.
Cuba - 3 pts.
November 11th we play Guatemala in Colorado.

Thanks!
I'd like the thank the idiots for making signs so completely out there that we thinking individuals may stear clear of them. I'd also like to recommend that all you McPalin people start stearing clear of them as well, the idiot might just rub off on you even more.

What is it with these people? It doesn't take a lot to do a little research, at the very least watch two different news channels for god's sake.

Day Off!
Ya so this is my 4th day off in a row! I took Friday off, and of course the weekend, then today is a federal holiday which means I'm off again! I know I've said this before and now I'll say it again, I love working for a federal institution.
I spent the weekend down south at the families, it was my youngest nephew's birthday so the family got together. The girls did really well, of course G was running around with her cousin's like crazy and the Bootch was gushed over by everyone, so they both had a good time I think. We came back yesterday and I quickly grabbed my gear and ran off to Hurling and Gaelic Football practice which felt great to get out there and run around, I didn't even play goal, nope I was stuck in midfield and ran around like crazy.

The Super Deluxe Electoral College pt. III
Okay after I did more reading this morning on the electoral college I have come to understand how votes can be counted early, even though the actual voting happens a month after the popular vote. 48 of the 50 states have a winner takes all rule in place, so take for example the state I live in votes for one candidate and they take the popular vote then the electoral vote goes that way. That makes sense since I always thought it ran that was anyways, but was confused by some of the pundits and websites that claimed votes were already promised.... which living in this world today I wouldn't doubt that some are already "promised" to a party. On that note what is wrong with Nebraska and Utah? Can you all get on the flipp'n bus already and stop doing your own thing?
The debates last night were rather dull to me, I wanted them both to come out swinging and in some cases McCain did, but being that he is somewhere around 237 years old they just sounded like an old man in dire need of his med's, a glass a prune juice, and a nap. Did anyone else think that the town hall format in this case turned out to be "let's give McCain every chance to speak and gear all of the questions towards him" format? And for the love of Pete someone get some sack and tell the candidate to shut it when they run way over, or a have a gong or something! I would love to see that, and just might write in the one who does it.

Electoral College Question prt II
Thanks to someone who anonymously sent me a link on how the Electoral College works it still begs the question how are those votes being counted already? (well not really counted per say, but someone is asking electors and they are spilling the beans and thus the media saying a certain candidate has more than the other).According to the article the Electoral College (all 500 plus of them) vote after the public votes, "On the Monday following the second Wednesday in December, the electors of each state meet in their respective state capitals to officially cast their votes for president and vice president. These votes are then sealed and sent to the president of the Senate, who on January 6th opens and reads the votes in the presence of both houses of Congress." And that is why we all sit and have to watch pundits blabbing on TV through Christmas and sometimes even calling elections before the votes have all come in... or should I say the votes have been miscounted, or lost, or bought properly.
Interestingly enough it does make some sense to me now, the Electoral College allows smaller states with less population have a say in the Presidential election, but I never think of those states anyway, I mean who really does pay attention to those little states up there in the northeast somewhere below Maine and somewhere near New York? It's all weird snobs up there anyway right?

Help me understand.
How is it that electoral votes are already being promised to the candidates? I guess I don't fully understand how this works, which you would figure I might have a better idea after the last two presidential elections, but I apparently don't.
While I don't mind the news because the one I'm voting for is the one that has the upper hand, I have to admit I'm getting some understanding of the people who say that our votes don't count as more states are "promising electoral votes".
Wouldn't we have to vote before they are promised?
